i've been using stainless steel for boiling water for years with out any obvious problems. But now that it's been brought up, I'm starting up to wonder if there's something I must be worried on. Is there a specific kind of stainless steel that's safer for boiling water?

i've heard that high-quality stainless steel, like 304 grade, is safer simply because it's less likely to leach harmful substances into the water. but then again, I'm not an adept on this. Can anyone confirm?

i think it on top depends on how you're using the stainless steel foundry. If you're only boiling water for a short period of period, the risk may be minimal when compared to prolonged exposure or cooking acidic foods in stainless steel cookware. Has any person consulted a specialist on this matter?
