How to remove Burned Oil Residue from Stainless Steel Pan Casting?
#1
Hey folks! I'm in a bit of a culinary pickle here. I accidentally left my stainless steel pan casting on the stove for too long, and now there's a stubborn layer of burned oil that just won't budge. Any tips on how to salvage my pan?

Oh guy, been there, done that! Burned oil is the worst to wash off stainless steel. Get you attempted soaking it in hot, soapy water yet? sometimes that can help loosen up the gunk.

Agreed. Soaking is generally my first go-to as well. If that doesn't job, you may possibly want to try simmering any water and vinegar in the pan for a while. The acidity can sometimes help break down the burnt oil residue.

Many thanks for the ideas, guys! I'll definitely provide soaking a shot. Ought to I exploit any specific kind of soap, or will standard dish cleaning soap do the trick?

regular dish soap should be good. Just make sure to let it soak for a decent amount of period to exactly penetrate that burnt-on oil.

Another thing you may want to consider is using baking soda. It's abrasive enough to scrub away the burnt bits without damaging the stainless steel.

Baking soda, huh? I never would've thought of that. Thanks a lot for the tip! I'll incorporate that to my cleaning arsenal.

No issue! Only remember to continually use a delicate sponge or cloth when scrubbing with baking soda to avoid scratching the surface of your pan.

And if all else fails, there are any commercial stainless steel cleaners out there specifically designed for difficult stains like burnt oil. May be worth a shot if the Diy methods don't cut it.
