I've been considering stainless steel too, but I'm worried about the mass. Are they significantly heavier than aluminum boxes?

That's a valid concern,. Stainless steel is certainly heavier than aluminum, but in my case, the durability outweighs the mass. I'd rather get some thing sturdy that can handle whatever I throw at it.

I've been employing a plastic tool box for a while now, and while it's lightweight, it's starting to demonstrate wear and tear. I'm pondering of switching to stainless steel for something more long-lasting. Any tips on brands or particular features to seem for?

I've listened to good things about brand X and brand Y for stainless steel truck gear boxes. Look for ones with reinforced lids and secure locking mechanisms to keep your tools risk-free and sounds.

A concern I have about stainless steel is its resistance to intense temperatures. Has anyone seasoned any issues with their tool boxes in really hot or cold climates?

I live in a area with pretty extreme weather, and my stainless steel gear box has held up only wonderful. It doesn't warp or crack in the temperature, and it doesn't get brittle in the chilly like any plastics can. overall, I'd say it's a solid choice for all climates.
