I did a little bit of research on this recently. Stainless steel water bottles are usually made using a method known as investment casting, where a wax design of the bottle is created and then coated in ceramic. Once the ceramic is hardened, the wax is melted away, leaving behind a hollow ceramic mold. Molten stainless steel is then poured into the mold and enable to cool, resulting in the final bottle condition.
