That's a great question! I'm not an specialist, however I believe stainless steel lamps are oftentimes cast using a method called precision casting. In essence, a wax product of the lamp is produced, then coated in ceramic. Once the ceramic hardens, the wax is melted away, leaving a mould that can be filled with molten stainless steel.
