The pros and Disadvantages of Floating Stainless Steel Shelf Casting

I've had floating stainless steel shelves in my kitchen for a few years now, and I have mixed feelings about them. On 1 hand, they seem velvety and contemporary, however on the more hand, they can be a pain to wash. Has anybody found a course to keep them looking shiny without too much effort?
