Rust Removal from Cast Iron without Steel Wool
#4
I've used the vinegar method before, and it works like a charm! Another alternative is to use a mixture of lemon juice and salt. The citric acid in lemon juice helps break down rust, while the abrasive essence of salt aids in scrubbing away the rust particles. Easily sprinkle salt on the rusted field, then cram lemon juice on the salt to produce a paste. Let it sit for some hours, then scrub the erode away with a nylon brush or sponge. It's a all- natural and strong way to wash rusty cast steely without resorting to steel wool. Have you presented this procedure a try?
