Easily soak the rusty cast steely in a solution of equivalent components white vinegar and water for a few hours or overnight. Following soaking, scrub the rusted field with a nylon brush or sponge. The acidity of the vinegar helps dissolve the rust, generating it simpler to remove. Only be sure to completely rinse and dry the cast iron afterward to prevent any lingering vinegar smell.
