Hey every person, I've been taking into consideration investing in a 14-inch stainless steel skillet for casting purposes. Anyone here have experience with this? Is it value it?
I've used stainless steel skillets for casting before, but never a quite that large. What kindof casting are you planning to do with it?
I'm curious on this too. I've used smaller skillets for casting specified items, but I surprise if the dimension of the skillet exactly makes a distinction in the quality of the casting.
I've never tried casting with stainless steel skillets. What are the advantages of using stainless steel over other materials like cast iron or aluminum?
I'm mainly interested in utilizing it for larger projects like molds for sculptures and certain Diy projects. I've read that stainless steel is more lasting and has better temperature distribution in contrast to more materials.
That sounds like a great inkling, especially for larger projects. but won't the dimension of the skillet do it difficult to handle? I can picture it may be heavy and challenging to maneuver.
Yeah, handling could certainly be a concern with a skillet that broad. Have you appeared into any distinct brands or models that may possibly be easier to handle?
I've been researching some choices, but I'm open to ideas. I'm looking for something with sturdy handles and possibly even a helper control for easier lifting.
An additional thing to think about is the maintenance of stainless steel compared to more materials. Stainless steel tends to be easier to wash and less prone to rusting, which could be beneficial for long-term use.
That's an excellent point. I've had issues with rusting on some of my cast iron molds before, so stainless steel might be a better choice for longevity.
