Does anyone have suggestions for cleaning a stainless steel watch?
Coincidently, I just cleaned mine. I typically use a small amount of mild dish soap and warm water. Just make sure to rinse thoroughly and dry well to avoid water spots.
That's what I do as well,. I also use a soft cloth to gently clean the watch so as not to scratch it.
I've heard of people using toothpaste to clean spots off of stainless steel watches, anyone tried this?
I wouldn't recommend toothpaste,. It can be abrasive and might potentially scratch your watch.
Thanks for the advice everyone. What about professional cleaning? Is it worth the expense?
It can be, especially if your watch is an expensive one or an heirloom, professional cleaners have expertise cleaning watches without damaging them.
Professionally cleaning may also be necessary in case the watch is water-resistant. Submerging the watch during cleaning might not be ideal in these scenarios.
Exactly,. It's all about evaluating your watch's needs and your comfort with cleaning it.
